About me

I'm not a book marketing professional offering services for a fee. I've helped indie authors publish award-winning books as the managing editor of a small press. I know from personal experience how much effort it takes to promote books. And like many indie authors, I try to find ways to become better at promoting what I publish.

In 2014, I started following several successful indie authors online to see how they market their books. Since then, I've also gathered a lot of information from book marketing professionals.

In the summer of 2021, I launched this website to share what I've learned. My site features advice from professional book marketers and focuses on promoting Kindle titles to help market books. I hope you'll check out my blog with information from book marketing professionals about once a week, and where you can sign up to receive blog posts by email as soon as they post. I'm also on Substack at https://mikelmiller.substack.com/ and on Medium at https://medium.com/@mikelkmiller.

I've also launched a newsletter, titled "Cats and Dogs and Books," to connect with people about marketing books. If you're not already a subscriber to my monthly newsletter with insights from selected authors (and some from me) you can subscribe by using the signup form on the newsletter page of my website.

Although I'm retired from the daily grind of publishing, I still get questions almost every week about how to market books. Information on this site answers general questions, and you can contact me by email at mikelmiller09@kindlebookpromos.com if you have a specific question. My Amazon Author Page has info about me and books I've written or helped other authors publish. Check it out at https://amzn.to/2Vy32Cu. Thanks!

For the past five years, I've managed a blog and newsletter and a Facebook page to promote an award-winning history book. I also help administer an online group of more than 200 international writers who share insights about publishing and promoting books.
